Born and raised in Tippecanoe County, Ron Alting is proud to call Lafayette home. A graduate of Jefferson High School and Purdue University, Ron Alting has dedicated his career to serving our community and has been involved in a variety of local organizations including The Hanna Community Center, Meals on Wheels, the Tippecanoe Arts Federation, the Lafayette Symphony Orchestra, and the Lafayette City Council.
During his tenure in the Indiana State Senate, Ron has worked tirelessly, with colleagues on both sides of the aisle, to pass common-sense legislation and get things done for the people of Tippecanoe County and Indiana. His collaborative approach to solving the issues facing our community and our state has earned him the Legislator of the Year Award seven times.
In addition to his work with state and local issues such as education and veteran’s affairs, Ron is also a proud supporter of the Best Buddies Indiana, the world’s largest organization dedicated to ending the social, physical, and economic isolation of 200 million people worldwide who suffer from intellectual and physical disabilities.
